FROM THE RECORD RECYCLER ARCHIVES:
This band was called THE CITY BLUES. The title of the album is "Blues For Laurent Street". This is essentially a HOME-MADE Record. These guys probably got the money together themselves or had a manager/backer who put up the money.
These guys were from Orange County, and this LP turns up down there, once in a while. The SOUTH BAY/LOS ANGELES area had other local bands that put out LPs & 45 rpm singles. A local band would probably press-up 500-1000 copies of a LP or 45.
Records like the one pictured above are considered to be quite rare. Someone could have this LP in their collection if they were friends with someone in the band or used to attend their shows.
A record is "rare" when lack of supply meets strong demand.
And, this usually happens in grass-roots/independent label musical movements, or, when something was issued in limited numbers by a major label/group/artist.
That's the "High-End" of the Record Collector Market. The meat and potatos of the "regular" market consists of Records that are not necesarily super-rare, but, have managed to survive in such clean condition for all these years-a "rare" feat!
